Carrie Meek Gallagher

Carrie brings 25 years of experience in government leadership across New York State and Long Island. Her career includes serving as Incident Commander for the NYS COVID Test Site at Stony Brook, Regional Director of the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation on Long Island, Chief Sustainability Officer for the Suffolk County Water Authority, and Commissioner of Environment and Energy for Suffolk County. Most recently, she worked as Deputy Secretary for Energy & Environment in the Governor’s Office before returning to Long Island to lead the NYS Public Service Commission’s Long Island Office.

In her current position, Carrie and her regional team play a vital role in strengthening regulatory oversight of LIPA and PSEGLI, ensuring fair electricity rates while promoting reliable, resilient, and sustainable utility services—including electric, gas, water, cable, and telecommunications. Her office also supports the expansion of clean energy infrastructure needed to achieve the goals of the NYS Climate Act.

When she’s not working to advance a more sustainable future for the state and region, Carrie enjoys yoga, running with friends, exploring nature trails, and watching the sunset with a cocktail at West Meadow Beach.
